Tour Plan

7:00 AM – Pick-up from Your Bangkok Hotel

Start your unforgettable day with a prompt pick-up from your Bangkok hotel by your friendly, English-speaking guide and experienced driver. Settle into your private, air-conditioned vehicle for a scenic, comfortable drive to the countryside of Samut Songkhram province, approximately 90 minutes southwest of Bangkok. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about Thai culture, rural life, and the historical significance of the markets you’re about to visit.

Maeklong Railway Market Visit

Arriving at one of Thailand’s most famous and photogenic markets, you'll witness a truly unique local phenomenon. The Maeklong Railway Market, locally known as Talad Rom Hoop, is set directly on active train tracks. Several times a day, a train travels through the heart of the bustling market. As the train approaches, vendors swiftly fold back their awnings and pull away their goods just inches from the passing train — a sight that never fails to amaze visitors. After the train passes, take your time to stroll through the vibrant stalls selling fresh seafood, tropical fruits, spices, souvenirs, and street food. Capture incredible photos, sample local treats, and enjoy authentic market life in action.

Wat Phet Samuth Woravihan

Next, visit Wat Phet Samuth Woravihan, an important and highly respected temple for the local community. This peaceful sanctuary features a striking Buddha statue and intricately detailed temple architecture. Your guide will explain the temple’s history, its role in local traditions, and the significance of the many religious statues and shrines that adorn the temple grounds.

Wat Bang Kung Temple

Your next stop is the remarkable Wat Bang Kung, famous for its chapel wrapped entirely by the roots of a giant Bodhi tree. Dating back to the Ayutthaya period, this ancient temple offers a serene atmosphere and incredible photo opportunities. Inside, you’ll find a revered golden Buddha image and walls adorned with faded murals depicting ancient battles and religious scenes. The site also features a small riverside market and local activity areas, where you might spot Thai boxing demonstrations or farmers selling fresh produce.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

Continue your journey to Thailand’s most famous water market — the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Ratchaburi province. Upon arrival, climb aboard your private longtail boat for an unforgettable boat ride through a network of bustling canals, locally known as klongs. As you glide past rows of traditional wooden houses and floating vendors selling everything from exotic fruits and Thai desserts to handicrafts and souvenirs, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back in time to old Siam. This is the best floating market in Thailand for its lively, colorful atmosphere and photogenic scenes. Don’t miss the chance to try popular treats like mango sticky rice, coconut ice cream, and boat noodles, prepared right on the water.

Thai Lunch at a Local Restaurant

After exploring the market, sit down to a well-earned lunch at a charming riverside restaurant. Enjoy an array of authentic Thai dishes crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The menu typically includes favorites like Pad Thai, spicy papaya salad, green curry, and fragrant jasmine rice. Your guide will be happy to explain each dish and help you choose options tailored to your taste preferences.

3:00 PM – Return to Your Bangkok Hotel

After a day of cultural discovery and local flavors, relax in your private vehicle for the comfortable return journey to Bangkok. Your driver will drop you off directly at your hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories, stunning photographs, and a deeper appreciation for Thai culture and tradition.

Great tour, would go again

Great tour. The guide is knowledgeable and friendly, the driver was professional, and the places we went to were fun and interesting. The entire time the guide made sure we were happy and translated for us in situations when we needed it. They also adjusted the tour to spend more time at the places we care about more (floating and railway markets), and less at the ones we didn't care about as much (the temples). Overall we were very happy with the experience..

Some companies are better than others!

This was an outstanding day out without a single hassle or worry. Our guide Miss Ketsiree was well spoken and informative and seemed to have an inside person at each stop that allowed us to be in the best position for great photos without any waits. Seeing everyone scrambling for good photo locations, we realized how well planned our trip was. We had prime spots at both locations. This was an added tour which turned out to be one of the best Bangkok tours. Tour was completely inclusive (except souvenirs) and the guide treated us to local treats to bring home. She provided us with fascinating insight into the different locales along the way. I would definitely recommend this tour company in particular to anyone that wants individual attention without any waits, hassles, tolls, fees, or any worries. Just show up and enjoy the rich culture.

Fun Day at Railway & Floating Markets

Great day with our guide Ketsiree. We had a private tour with our own car/driver and were picked up and dropped off right from our hotel lobby which was very convenient. She guided us to purchase a drink from one of the vendors at the train market which then gave us the ability to stand in front of their shop when the train came through so we had a great view. Good tip! This market was interesting to see because it's clearly a place the local community comes to purchase fish, vegetables, fruits, etc - not just a tourist thing. After the railway market, we visited a couple temples on our way to the floating market. Ketsiree was very helpful in explaining the Thai customs and relevant history at each of these sites. The boat ride at the floating market was a fun experience and we stopped at a few vendors to make some purchases right from our boat. Mostly tourists, but fun experience anyway. We had a nice Thai lunch right next to the floating market after the boat ride and returned back to Bangkok hotel by ~2pm. Thank you to Ketsiree and our driver for a fun day!.

Great day visit to floating markets.

My wife and I enjoyed spending our day (private tour) with our guide Gimao and driver Mr. Toey. It is a bit of a drive to the floating market and the traffic is always heavy, but worth the trip. Gimao provided ample stops along the way and intermediate activities to round out the day. She is a lovely young lady and was able to provide interesting perspectives to what we saw and daily life in Thailand. Returning to our Bangkok hotel at a reasonable time..

Touristy- but if you haven't seen you should

we went to see this - it began with a longtail boat ride in the back streets or klongs ( alley ways in he river) you see how many locals live. so it is quite interesting. the floating market is quite colorful , bu it is not really a serious trading place anymore, but gives you a great insight into how it truly was many years ago. dont get me wrong the items on the boat are for sale, but aimed at the tourists. one thing to be careful of is, DO not hold the sides of the boats with your hands - you could end up getting your fingers squashed in between the many baots,.

Ambreen was an excellent guide. She...

Ambreen was an excellent guide. She packed a LOT into one spectacular day. Drive to Floating Market and took private boat on a busy Sunday. Full of people from all over the world enjoying the local Thai foods, fruits, and arts and crafts. Then off to the Rose Garden in Sampan to walk the beautiful grounds by the river followed by an excellent lunch in the restaurant sitting beside a pond filled with carp breaking the surface of the water. Then we went to the Thai Cultural center after lunch to learn the bamboo dance, see how they make massage ointments, paint umbrellas, make elephants from clay, make a Thai dessert of bananas and coconut, watch vegetable carving, make flower arrangements and see a live show. Off we went to a crocodile show and then also and Elephant show before heading back to Bangkok. Lovely countryside on the way back..

This is a full day trip departing at 7 am and getting back to Bangkok about 6 pm...depending on the traffic. You visit 2 provinces outside the city of Bangkok. At the first stop, you take an hour boat ride on the floating market. At times it seems like there will be a boat jam but every boat gets through without a problem. You can stop to buy things and sample various food items from vendors on the water. Once you stop, you can also wander through market stalls on ground. Some things are touristy...others are quite nice, especially some of the art work. Second stop is for lunch at the Sampran Riverside Hotel. The Rose Garden Thai village is located here as well. You can wander through the village and either just watch at each station or you can participate. There are food samplings as well. The high light of the Thai village is the cultural song and dance show that is held every afternoon. The bamboo cane dance is particularly thrilling. The afternoon also includes a short drive to see both an elephant and crocodile show. Aey was my guide. She is a very gentle person, knowledgeable as well. She paces the day very well, always making sure you have water and bathroom breaks.
