Tour Plan

Pick-Up from Your Bangkok Hotel – 7:00 AM

Your Thailand train market experience begins with a convenient pick-up from your Bangkok hotel at 7:00 AM by your private driver and English-speaking private guide Maeklong Railway Market Thailand expert. Travel in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle as you leave behind the city buzz for a scenic countryside drive, passing rice paddies and canals en route to the famous train market near Bangkok. This private Bangkok to Maeklong transfer ensures comfort and flexibility, setting the tone for a relaxed, personalized day trip.

Maeklong Railway Market – The Train That Cuts Through a Market

Arriving mid-morning at the incredible Maeklong Railway Market — also known as the Mae Klong Railway Market or Hoop Rom Market — you’ll witness one of Thailand’s most extraordinary scenes. Suddenly, a train passes through market Thailand right in front of your eyes, just inches from baskets of fruits, fish, and souvenirs. Vendors calmly move their goods, retract their umbrellas, and return to business as soon as the train has passed. This surreal moment defines the market with train going through, one of the most unique railway markets Thailand has to offer. This part of your Maeklong train market tour is a photographer’s dream. After the train passes, take time to explore the market, sample street food like grilled squid or fresh mango sticky rice, and immerse yourself in this vibrant corner of Thai daily life. It's the heartbeat of the Bangkok to Maeklong Railway Market route and a must-see cultural spectacle.

Wat Phet Samuth Woravihan – A Spiritual Sanctuary

Next, your guide takes you to Wat Phet Samuth Woravihan, an important local temple that’s deeply rooted in the province’s spiritual history. Here, you’ll learn about traditional Buddhist rituals and observe the intricate Thai craftsmanship that adorns the temple. It’s a peaceful pause in your Bangkok day trip to train market itinerary, allowing you to connect with Thailand’s spiritual side.

Wat Bang Kung – The Temple Within a Tree

Continue to the awe-inspiring Wat Bang Kung, a hidden gem surrounded — and partially swallowed — by the roots of a massive banyan tree. This ancient temple, filled with stories of resilience and national pride, offers a mystical setting perfect for reflection and photography. This stop adds historical depth to your day tour to Maeklong train market and is a favorite for travelers looking to explore more than just the tourist trail.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market – Canal Culture Come to Life

From land to water, your journey now takes you to the lively Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, a cornerstone of Thai culture. With a private boat ride in the floating market, you’ll glide through narrow canals where vendors in wooden boats sell tropical fruits, local snacks, and handcrafted goods. This is your chance to experience the charm of Maeklong and Damnoen Saduak floating market tour up close — a Thailand unique market experience where the past and present flow together. The colorful scenery, rhythmic paddling, and floating kitchens create a feast for the senses. Whether you're sipping coconut juice or snapping photos of the bustling waterway, this is an unmissable part of your Maeklong Market tour with floating market combo.

Lunch at a Local Thai Restaurant – Authentic & Delicious

After your canal adventure, enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at a local restaurant — freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. Sample authentic Thai dishes, from fragrant curries to crispy spring rolls. This meal is included in your Maeklong market tour price, offering great value and a taste of real Thailand, far from tourist menus.

Return to Bangkok – Drop-Off Around 3:00 PM

With your heart (and camera) full, relax during the return drive. Your Bangkok train market day trip private driver will escort you back to your hotel, arriving around 3:00 PM. Great tour, would go again

Great tour. The guide is knowledgeable and friendly, the driver was professional, and the places we went to were fun and interesting. The entire time the guide made sure we were happy and translated for us in situations when we needed it. They also adjusted the tour to spend more time at the places we care about more (floating and railway markets), and less at the ones we didn't care about as much (the temples). Overall we were very happy with the experience.

Some companies are better than others!

This was an outstanding day out without a single hassle or worry. Our guide Miss Ketsiree was well spoken and informative and seemed to have an inside person at each stop that allowed us to be in the best position for great photos without any waits. Seeing everyone scrambling for good photo locations, we realized how well planned our trip was. We had prime spots at both locations. This was an added tour which turned out to be one of the best Bangkok tours. Tour was completely inclusive (except souvenirs) and the guide treated us to local treats to bring home. She provided us with fascinating insight into the different locales along the way. I would definitely recommend this tour company in particular to anyone that wants individual attention without any waits, hassles, tolls, fees, or any worries. Just show up and enjoy the rich culture..

Fun Day at Railway & Floating Markets

Great day with our guide Ketsiree. We had a private tour with our own car/driver and were picked up and dropped off right from our hotel lobby which was very convenient. She guided us to purchase a drink from one of the vendors at the train market which then gave us the ability to stand in front of their shop when the train came through so we had a great view. Good tip! This market was interesting to see because it's clearly a place the local community comes to purchase fish, vegetables, fruits, etc - not just a tourist thing. After the railway market, we visited a couple temples on our way to the floating market. Ketsiree was very helpful in explaining the Thai customs and relevant history at each of these sites. The boat ride at the floating market was a fun experience and we stopped at a few vendors to make some purchases right from our boat. Mostly tourists, but fun experience anyway. We had a nice Thai lunch right next to the floating market after the boat ride and returned back to Bangkok hotel by ~2pm. Thank you to Ketsiree and our driver for a fun day!.

Great day visit to floating markets.

My wife and I enjoyed spending our day (private tour) with our guide Gimao and driver Mr. Toey. It is a bit of a drive to the floating market and the traffic is always heavy, but worth the trip. Gimao provided ample stops along the way and intermediate activities to round out the day. She is a lovely young lady and was able to provide interesting perspectives to what we saw and daily life in Thailand. Returning to our Bangkok hotel at a reasonable time..

Touristy- but if you haven't seen you should

we went to see this - it began with a longtail boat ride in the back streets or klongs ( alley ways in he river) you see how many locals live. so it is quite interesting. the floating market is quite colorful , bu it is not really a serious trading place anymore, but gives you a great insight into how it truly was many years ago. dont get me wrong the items on the boat are for sale, but aimed at the tourists. one thing to be careful of is, DO not hold the sides of the boats with your hands - you could end up getting your fingers squashed in between the many baots,.

Ambreen was an excellent guide. She packed a LOT into one spectacular day. Drive to Floating Market and took private boat on a busy Sunday. Full of people from all over the world enjoying the local Thai foods, fruits, and arts and crafts. Then off to the Rose Garden in Sampan to walk the beautiful grounds by the river followed by an excellent lunch in the restaurant sitting beside a pond filled with carp breaking the surface of the water. Then we went to the Thai Cultural center after lunch to learn the bamboo dance, see how they make massage ointments, paint umbrellas, make elephants from clay, make a Thai dessert of bananas and coconut, watch vegetable carving, make flower arrangements and see a live show. Off we went to a crocodile show and then also and Elephant show before heading back to Bangkok. Lovely countryside on the way back.

This is a full day trip departing at 7 am and getting back to Bangkok about 6 pm...depending on the traffic. You visit 2 provinces outside the city of Bangkok. At the first stop, you take an hour boat ride on the floating market. At times it seems like there will be a boat jam but every boat gets through without a problem. You can stop to buy things and sample various food items from vendors on the water. Once you stop, you can also wander through market stalls on ground. Some things are touristy...others are quite nice, especially some of the art work. Second stop is for lunch at the Sampran Riverside Hotel. The Rose Garden Thai village is located here as well. You can wander through the village and either just watch at each station or you can participate. There are food samplings as well. The high light of the Thai village is the cultural song and dance show that is held every afternoon. The bamboo cane dance is particularly thrilling. The afternoon also includes a short drive to see both an elephant and crocodile show. Aey was my guide. She is a very gentle person, knowledgeable as well. She paces the day very well, always making sure you have water and bathroom breaks..
